Inclusive, Critical Thinking & Student-Oriented

My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive and inclusive environment -where all voices are heard and valued- that encourages students from diverse backgrounds to engage in critical thinking, active partipation, and intellectual curiosity.

One core tenet of my teaching philosophy is bridging theory and practice to foster critical thinking. My class activities help students engage with real-world issues, deepening their understanding while encouraging inquisivitiness and interaction.

Through structured discussions, I foster open dialogue by welcoming diverse perspectives. It creates a vibrant and intellectually stimulating learning environment where all students feel heard, respected, and motivated to succeed.

My goal is to not only teach the content but to inspire a lifelong passion for learning and a deep understanding of the importance of active citizenship in a global context.

Global Issues (POLS 2401) Summer, Fall 2024

Welcome to the world! This course introduces you to contemporary issues in international politics and is designed for those who do not have significant prior knowledge of international affairs. We examine some of the most pressing political, security, economic, and social challenges facing the United States and the international community, such as turmoil across the Middle East and Europe, weapons proliferation, poverty and economic development, the rise of China, population growth, climate change, and global pandemics. Can we solve the challenges we face and build a better world? The idea is to introduce the actors, issues and processes so that you can develop and articulate informed views on them and start thinking about possible solutions.

This course presents theoretical, analytical, and factual knowledge of political science and the fields of political science - comparative politics and international relations. Alongside the teaching of political content and theories, this course also trains you to use the learning skills of critical thinking, writing, and speaking.
